My Mom had a friend that worked at a small production company and they needed someone to move a bunch BetaSP tapes to a new location. Since I had a pickup truck, I got the job.

Clint is a Director and Director of Photography specializing in both narrative and documentary storytelling. As the Senior Director of Photography and Visuals Director at Karga Seven, Clint has traveled the world exploring interesting stories and sub-cultures. Some clients include, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel and Esquire Network.

What's your earliest memory that sparked your interest in your respective trade?

I don't ever remember thinking, "I'm going to grow up to be a cinematographer." Even when I did grow up, I didn't know what I wanted to do until I was already working in the industry. The cool kids were always in the camera department.

Where did you train and/or study?

On set.

Johannes Vermeer. Frank Lloyd Wright. Pulp Fiction. Eminem.

Clint's Gear:

What's the best professional advice you've ever been given?

Don't say no to a job unless you need to.

How did you get your first break in the industry?

My Mom had a friend that worked at a small production company and they needed someone to move a bunch BetaSP tapes to a new location. Since I had a pickup truck, I got the job.

What has been your proudest moment in your line of work thus far?

I suppose I'm proud of all my work, but I'm certain nobody cares. :)

Film or Digital?

Digital.

What's your newest favorite piece of technology?

Gimbals and drones (for lack of a better term).

What's the next "big thing" in the entertainment industry?

Holograms.

Any other interests or hobbies outside of what you do?

I love taking Polaroid photos and naps.

Why did you join ShareGrid?

I think its a great way for independent owner/operators to help each other out. I'd rather give production's money to my friends and colleagues rather than to a rental house. Plus, my gear sits around a lot while I'm out on other jobs and I've got a killer package. Hopefully, someone else will shoot something rad with it.
