ShareGrid is Open in Atlanta
It is no secret that the Atlanta film industry is a force to be reckon with. Living in Los Angeles for 9+ years, I’ve seen friends jump ship and move to the Peach State for better work opportunities…and less expensive real estate.
When my team and I set out to expand to our next city, we often times turn to not only the trends of the market but most importantly, our members. We had an overwhelming amount of signups on our waitlist from Atlanta. So the proof was right in front of us. After Los Angeles and New York City, it was Atlanta.
Since ShareGrid’s launch back in January of 2015, we’ve helped create hundreds of projects made by thousands of new members with tens of millions of dollars worth of new gear!
A Pirate's Tale by ShareGrid member, Lukas Colombo.
Projects created with ShareGrid gear have been pouring in! From RED, to BlackMagic, to ARRI to Canon. Camera gear and all things production have been renting like crazy to give our members the chance to tell meaningful stories.
Clearly, it’s been an exciting year and a half but we’re stoked to now bring our movement to the Atlanta community! After successful launches in Los Angeles and New York City, I was unsure of what to expect from Atlanta. However, our early members have exceeded my expectations with close to $3M in inventory already!
Just in the past month, we’ve received an overwhelming amount of support and excitement from our early Atlanta members. Early ShareGrid member and Atlanta City Manager, Camden Hogue elaborates on why the time is now:
”Atlanta is a growing film hub with the third largest industry in the country and tied for fourth world wide on a professional scale. Georgia has generated over $6 billion dollars in revenue from the booming film industry. And as one of thirteen states that offer some of the most profitable tax incentives for film, both the state and the industry are only looking to grow.”
Early ShareGrid member and former Los Angeles cinematographer, Christian Ortega moved from Los Angeles earlier this year to jump on the wave of Atlanta’s booming industry. He was also the star of ShareGrid's flagship commercial!
“I moved to Atlanta to become a part of Georgia's burgeoning film industry. The potential for growth out here is artistically, culturally, and economically undeniable and needed.”
We want to be where our fellow artists are. Where they’re creating and telling meaningful stories. Where they’re collaborating, networking and doing whatever they can to follow their passion. We want to be there to make it easier to connect, share and create. That’s why we’re launching our ShareGrid Atlanta community.
Any question, don’t hesitate to contact us. Hotlanta, we’re open for business.
