ShareGrid has released a long-requested new charging system to ensure a more reliable, flexible and fair rental experience for both renters and venders on our platform, powered by Stripe, a global leader in payment processing.

What does this mean for you?

As a renter:

When an owner accepts your rental request, your payment card on file will be charged immediately. For bookings made five days or more in advance, your card will be charged five days prior to the pickup date.

Funds are then held safely until the rental is finished. Any changes or additions authorized by you during the rental with show up as separate charges on your card. Any refunds or credits will be applied within 2 days of the drop-off date and be credited back to your card on file.

Cancellations will refund to your card within 2-3 business days, per our cancellation policy.

As an equipment owner:

Our new system secures the full amount for each rental prior to the rental start date, and any new charges or credits related to the rental will be handled as independent transactions.

Your rental profits will be deposited to your connected Stripe account within 2 days of marking the rental complete, and will be released to your bank account 2-3 business days after that.

This new charging and accounting system will pave the way for a slew of new features to empower both renters and vendors to take control of their rental experience. Stay tuned for more to come!
